　　古晋南市位于马来西亚婆罗洲岛的砂拉越河南岸，是砂拉越州首府，马来西亚第四大城市，总面积61.53平方公里，人口28万。这里文化遗产丰富，自然风光秀丽，是该国著名的旅游胜地。

Located on the southern bank of the Sarawak River, the City of Kuching South is the capital of the state of Sarawak and the fourth largest city in Malaysia. It covers an area of 61.53 km², with a population of about 280,000.Rich cultural heritages and charming natural scenery make it a popular tourism destination in Malaysia.

　　2024年12月：湛江市政府代表团应邀赴古晋南市，出席马来西亚（砂拉越）-中国合作论坛暨友好城市圆桌会，并在论坛上作城市推介。

InDecember 2024, Zhanjiang government delegation was invited by the City of Kuching South to attend Malaysia (Sarawak)•China Cooperation Forum and Mayor’s Roundtable on Friendship Cities Collaboration and promoted Zhanjiang at the forum.

　　2024年9月：湛江市举行庆祝中华人民共和国成立75周年招待会，古晋南市市长、拿督黄鸿圣发来祝贺视频。

In September 2024, a congratulatory video by Dato Wee Hong Seng, Mayor of the City of Kuching South, was played at the Reception in Celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China held by Zhanjiang.

　　2018年7月：吴川市政府组织吴川粤剧南派艺术、吴川飘色文化交流团赴马来西亚参加第30届古晋城市日庆祝活动。

In July 2018, two troupes of Southern School of Cantonese Opera and Piaose sent by Wuchuan, a county-level city in Zhanjiang, visited Malaysia to participate in the 30th Anniversary of Kuching City Day.

　　2011年7月：湛江市与古晋南市缔结国际友好交流城市关系。

In July 2011, Zhanjiang established friendship city relations with the City of Kuching South.
