12月23日，以“启航东盟‘万象’更新”为主题的湛江至老挝万象航线首航仪式在湛江吴川国际机场举行。湛江市委常委、统战部部长程凤英，茂名市政府、广东省机场管理集团有限公司有关负责人出席活动。应湛江市委外办邀请，老挝驻广州总领事潘塔冯·布塔萨冯参加了首航仪式并致辞。

On December 23, the inaugural ceremony for the Zhanjiang-Vientiane, Laosflight routewas held at Zhanjiang Wuchuan International Airport. Ms.Cheng Fengying, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Zhanjiang Municipal Committee, along with representativesfrom the Maoming Municipal Government and Guangdong Airport Authority, attended the event. At the invitation of Zhanjiang Foreign Affairs Bureau,Mr.Phanthavong Bouthasavong, Consul General of Laos in Guangzhou, participated in the ceremony and delivered a speech.

　　潘塔冯·布塔萨冯对航线开通表示祝贺，他指出，万象至湛江航线开通，不仅是老中互联互通合作的一项重要成果，也是迎接2026年老中建交65周年的里程碑项目，期待这条新航线未来进一步密切双方商务合作、人员往来和文化交流。

Mr.Phanthavong Bouthasavongcongratulated the launch of the new route, noting that the Vientiane-Zhanjiang flight routeis not only a significant achievement in Laos-China connectivity cooperation but also a milestone for the 65th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Laos and China in 2026. He hopedthat the new route would boost bilateral trade, investment, and culture cooperation, as well as people-to-people exchangesbetween the two sides.

　　访湛期间，程凤英与潘塔冯·布塔萨冯亲切会面，双方就充分发挥航线作用，深化湛江与老挝合作进行友好交流。程凤英表示，湛江区位优越，海陆空交通设施完善。国家和省高度重视湛江发展，湛江已初步构建形成绿色钢铁、绿色石化、绿色能源、绿色食品、蓝色海洋“四绿一蓝”主导产业，正积极打造“鲜美湛江”文旅品牌。衷心期待以此次航线开通为契机，进一步推进湛江与老挝在经贸、文旅等领域务实合作。

During the visit, Ms. Cheng Fengying met with Mr. Phanthavong Bouthasavong. The two sides held friendly discussions on deepening cooperation between Zhanjiang and Laos through the new route. Ms. Cheng highlighted Zhanjiang’s strategic location and well-developed transportation network by sea, land, and air. She mentioned that both national and provincial authoritieshaveattachedgreat importance to Zhanjiang’s development, and the city has initially established anindustrial system led by“four green and one blue”—green steel, green petrochemicals, green energy, green food, and blue marine economy. Zhanjiang is also actively building the tourism brand, “Fresh Zhanjiang”. Ms. Cheng expressed sincere hope that the launch of this flight route would further advance practical cooperation between Zhanjiang and Laos in economy, trade, culture, and tourism.

Mr.Phanthavong Bouthasavongstated that Zhanjiang possesses a solid industrial foundation, rich cultural and tourism resources, and greatdevelopment potential. He hoped that both sides would work together to make full use of the direct flight, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and achieve common development. The Consulate General of Laos in Guangzhou highly values its friendly relationship with Zhanjiang and is willing to serve as a bridge to promote the establishment of friendship city relations between Lao cities and Zhanjiang.
