2023年是湛江发展史上具有里程碑意义的一年，习近平总书记亲临视察，科技、人才等要素资源加快集聚，“红树林之城”魅力“湛”放。

　　新的一年，我们将牢记嘱托、感恩奋进，坚持科技赋能绿色钢铁、绿色石化、绿色能源、绿色食品和蓝色海洋经济，充分发挥驻湛高校、科研院所优势，激发企业技改内生动力，高标准建设湛江国家高新区、湛江湾实验室，大力开展高新技术产业培育计划和人才工作提质年行动，奋力推动跨越式、高质量发展，以优异成绩迎接新中国成立75周年。

　　The year 2023 is a milestone in the history of Zhanjiang’s development, since General Secretary Xi Jinping inspected Zhanjiang. In this year, science and technology, talents and other element resources gathered rapidly, showing the charm of Zhanjiang as the City of Mangroves.

　　In the new year, we shall bear in mind the ardententrustment and forge ahead to promote science and technology in green iron and steel, green petrochemicals, green energy, green food and marine economy. We shall encourage universities and scientific research  institutions in Zhanjiang to give full play to their advantages, stimulate the endogenous impetus of enterprises in technological reform, construct Zhanjiang National High-tech Zone and Zhanjiang Bay Laboratory, and launch a cultivation program of high-tech industries and the quality improvement annual plan for talents. With these efforts, Zhanjiang strives to make leap-forward, high-quality development and shall welcome the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China with outstanding achievements.
