6月12日，芬兰驻华大使馆公使衔参赞刘敏一行到访湛江，湛江市副市长吴国雄会见。双方就深化湛江与芬兰在文旅、体育等领域合作开展交流。市外事局、市文化广电旅游体育局等相关单位参加会见。

Melissa Säilä, Minister Counsellor of Embassy of the Republic of Finland in China visited Zhanjiangon June 12th. Wu Guoxiong, Vice Mayor of Zhanjiang Municipal People’s Government met with her and held a talk on deepening exchanges and cooperation in the fields of culture, tourism and sports between Zhanjiang and Finland. Officials from relevant authorities including Zhanjiang Foreign Affairs Bureau and Zhanjiang Culture, Media, Tourism and Sports Bureau attended the meeting.

　　吴国雄代表湛江市政府对刘敏一行到访表示欢迎，对芬兰驻华大使馆长期以来对湛江的关心支持表示感谢，并详细介绍了湛江经济社会发展情况及文旅体资源。他表示，湛江交通便捷、产业兴旺，文旅资源丰富，体育历史悠久、成绩辉煌，是一座活力四射的体育大市。今年是中芬建交75周年，湛江市与芬兰各领域交流合作将迎来前所未有的发展机遇。今年4月，徐闻县与芬兰罗瓦涅米市正式缔结为国际友好交流城市关系，象征两地友谊的地标建筑“徐闻友谊号”即将落成，为双方深化合作注入了新动力。期待芬兰驻华大使馆继续关注和支持湛江，为促进两地合作牵线搭桥，让两地人民往来更密切、交流更深入、友谊更深厚。

WuGuoxiong welcomed Melissa Säilä on behalf of the Zhanjiang Municipal People’s Government and expressed gratitude to the Embassy of the Republic of Finland in China for its long-term care and support to Zhanjiang. He introduced the economic and social development, cultural and tourism resources of Zhanjiang. He mentioned that Zhanjiang has convenient transportation, thriving industries, abundant cultural and tourism resources, a long history of sports and excellent achievements, and is a vibrant sports city. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Finland, and there will be unprecedented opportunities for bilateral exchanges and cooperation in various fields. In April this year, Xuwen County of Zhanjiang and Rovaniemi of Finland established friendly relations. Xuwen Friendship landmark architecture symbolizing friendship between the two places will open to public soon and inject new impetus into deepening bilateral cooperation. It is expectedthat the Embassy of the Republic of Finland in Beijing will continue to pay attention to and support Zhanjiang, facilitating bilateral cooperation and promoting more frequent exchanges, deeper communications and closer ties between our peoples.

Delegates from the Embassy of the Republic of Finland in Beijing attended the unveiling ceremony of Xuwen Friendship, the friendly landmark between Xuwen County of China and Rovaniemi of Finland.

　　刘敏感谢湛江热情接待，她表示，湛江与芬兰交流密切，合作成果丰硕，徐闻县“WePark玩湃运动公园”和“徐闻友谊号”是芬中友好合作典范。芬兰驻华大使馆将继续积极发挥桥梁纽带作用，深化双方友好关系，并期待双方在文旅、体育、教育、可持续发展等领域进一步拓展合作空间，共享发展机遇。

　　来访期间，芬兰驻华大使馆一行赴徐闻参加“徐闻友谊号——中国徐闻县&芬兰罗瓦涅米市友好地标”揭幕仪式，在湛江海滨宾馆体验中国传统茶艺文化、参观湛江金沙湾观海长廊和赤坎老街。

Duringthe visit, delegates from the Embassy of the Republic of Finland in Beijing attended the unveiling ceremony of Xuwen Friendship, the friendly landmark between Xuwen County of China and Rovaniemi of Finland. They also experienced Chinese tea culture in Zhanjiang Haibin Hotel, and visited Jinsha Bay sea-viewing corridor and Chikan old street.
